Sulakshan Sabaratnam

    Sulakshan Sabaratnam is an Emergency Preparedness and Risk Specialist at Oak Valley Health – one of Ontario’s leading community health systems that encompasses Markham Stouffville Hospital, Uxbridge Hospital, and the Reactivation Care Centre. In his current role, he leads the development of Oak Valley Health’s emergency management and business continuity program.

    He has recently entered the healthcare industry after over 8 years of progressive experience in security administration and emergency management in the post-secondary sector with Centennial and Seneca Colleges. During this time, Sulakshan has served on the executive team of the Ontario Association of College and University Security Administrators (OACUSA) and contributed to the development of industry standards and best practices in higher education related to campus safety, security and emergency management.

    In his free time, Sulakshan continues to serve with the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Management team as an Emergency Response Team Supervisor and as a member of the West-Scarborough Youth Justice Committee.
