Claudia Cocco is the lead Emergency Preparedness Planner for the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (TCLHIN) and the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. In these roles, she coordinates communication and collaboration with Health System Partners for best practice and knowledge transfer opportunities to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from planned and unplanned emergencies/events.
She has recently been recognized with an ‘innovative leading practice’ by Health Services Ontario for her work with the Toronto Central LHIN Hospitals in evaluating system partner coordination during a hospital evacuation exercise.
Prior to entering the field of Emergency Preparedness, Claudia worked as a Registered Nurse caring for Ontario’s most vulnerable populations with specialties in critical care, burns, and First Nations primary care.
